Any youth is welcome to come visit a Troop meeting to see if they would be interested in joining.
If you have decided to join, then welcome to 220! What you'll need are a few things.
1) Complete an application.
- Adult Application
- Youth Application
2) Pay the registration fee - the Unit Treasurer will assist you with the current year's costs when registering.
Adults: Complete Youth Protection Training within 72 hours from submitting your registration. Then completing your Position Specific Training (the Committee Chair can aide you in what that might be). Typically adults join as Committee Members and so they'll complete the Troop Committee Challenge.
3) Obtain a scout uniform - If you need assistance, the troop will aide you.
Once registered, you will be able to participate in scouting activities. First Year scouts will be put into Panther Patrol to learn the basics of scouting, how advancement works, how to work as a patrol, and just the general basics of scouting. After that, they are put into patrols based on their age/grade to continue their journey.
If the scout is a bit older than the usual newer scout, they may float around patrols of their age group and work with learning scouting through them and being assigned one of those patrols after a few weeks.
If you have any questions about joining, you may contact any of the Troop Key 3 through the contact page below and they will be more than happy to answer any question, or point you in the right direction to someone who can.
