Troop 220 has a long history in the Lee’s Summit area of preparing young men to become leaders in our community and life. We were established in 1937, making us one of the oldest troops in Lee's Summit. We are proud to have Lee's Summit Christian Church as our chartered organization.

About Troop 220

Troop 220 is a very active troop. We maintain a 12-month camping schedule and an active outdoor experience through hiking, backpacking, summer camp, and high-adventure. We are also involved in a wide variety of community service activities. We invite you and your son to visit and see if Troop 220 is right for you.

We meet every Monday night at 7:30 pm at the Lee's Summit Christian Church, 800 NE Tudor Road, Lee's Summit, MO. Visitors and potential new members are always welcome!

The scouting experience offers boys the opportunity to earn merit badges and rise through the ranks to reach the ultimate goal of Eagle Scout. Throughout each year, there are numerous events and activities that come with tasks to complete or projects to undertake that will help you earn your next merit badge. Being a part of BSA Scouts gives boys the opportunity to develop many important life skills. Boys will develop leadership skills, independence, self-confidence, and a sense of responsibility while learning to impact their community, nation, and world through various service projects. The BSA provides a safe and supportive environment for boys to explore new things and grow into responsible young men.  Scouts will work as a team while learning important outdoor skills, all while developing life-long friendships and, most importantly, having fun.

Developing Tomorrows Leaders

The Troop is youth-led with the Scouts planning and carrying out their activities. This allows every Scout to be involved and develop important leadership skills. Adults provide oversight and monitor youth training. By planning and organizing activities, they develop teamwork and learn to lead as well as follow. This system provides an excellent opportunity for Scouts to develop leadership skills that will be useful throughout their lives. In addition, it gives them a chance to take responsibility for their own learning and growth. As a result, the Scout Troop is an excellent place for young people to develop into responsible adults. Troop 220 is for boys aged 11-18. Our chartered organization also supports Troop 7220 for girls.
